From Coal & Steel was made during my residency at Arte Contemporary in Catalonia, Spain in 2022.

These two materials became fundamental in the inception o the European Coal and Steel Community, late the EU. The economic treaty put forward by Schuman was, in a way, an excuse to avoid further large scale conflicts on European soil by in effect making countries interdependent on an even level. 

Here the two materials seamlessly fit into each other, as if they wouldn’t be able to exist without one another. Supported, held, mututally dependent, attached, in balance with one another - they must co-exist to exist.
